You might have heard of downtown Greenville’s Sigal Music Museum, which collects and preserves historical musical instruments, objects, and information, and features a robust list of exhibits, performances, and experiential programs.
The museum‘s just-announced performance schedule for the fall of 2025 features a wide variety of programs and genres. The museum may hold a harpsichord that Mozart once played, but it’s not just about classical music.
Jazz fans, for example, can enjoy an evening of “Bootleg Jazz” by the ensemble ContraBand on September 4; a trio set from pianist Joe Davidian on October 2; and an evening of Cuban Jazz by the Iliana Rose Cuban Jazz Band on October 30.

On November 6, renowned pianists Gregory Thompson and Meisha Whitlock perform the works of African American composers Florence Price, Margaret Bonds, George Walker, and Dolores White. The season concludes with a classical mandolin recital by Spartanburg’s Carrera Stamile on December 11.
The museum also hosts a lecture series, and this season includes a dive into the evolution of electronic music; conductor Gary Malvern’s “On Sweeney Todd”; and composer Kelly Ward’s “A Composer Interprets the Russian Folktale Vasilisa.”
