After Jon proposed on a cliff in Crete, Greece, this couple planned two receptions to celebrate their marriage. The first was a rooftop wedding at Avenue in Greenville, with a reception to follow. The second took place the following month in Antwerp, Belgium, where Emily “got her Bridgerton,” she jokes. Jon’s father grew up in Belgium, and several family members live there and in the Netherlands, leading to a large family celebration overseas.
In Greenville, Emily wore her mother’s wedding dress, updated with a shorter length, to her rehearsal dinner at Camp, and wore a gown from The White Magnolia for the ceremony. The reception included musicians from Uptown Entertainment, catering from Table 301, and authentic Belgian chocolates for reception attendees.
In Antwerp, the celebration featured a six-tier cake topped with sparklers and a DJ-led reception that didn’t shut down until 4 a.m. Emily, who works in management at Southern Tide, and Jon, a physical therapist, live in Greenville.
