When South Carolina Children’s Theatre was founded in Greenville in 1987, it began as a small labor of love driven by a dedicated team of volunteers. Nearly 40 years later, the theater has grown to serve more than 30,000 children and their families each year through performances, educational programs, community events, and more.
But even as it has flourished and expanded, South Carolina Children’s Theatre has not lost its core mission to inspire the next generation. Its team understands that taking part in a live theater experience as a child is a transformative experience—one that instills empathy, curiosity, open-mindedness, courage, and belief in oneself.
