Hit the Green

Putt-putt your way through iconic Upstate locations in this new museum exhibit

Can’t get enough of The Masters? Get ready to sharpen your swing at the new Geo’s Golf: Swinging Through Greenville Exhibit at the Children’s Museum of the Upstate. Here are three things we love about the Upstate-inspired creative course.

It’s All Local

From the idea to the finishing touches, the exhibit was conceived and built entirely in-house. The museum’s exhibits manager is an avid golf lover, and wanted to bring a putt-putt course into the museum—and the team was able to make it happen with the generous support of the community, Green Valley Country Club and multiple other businesses in the area.

It’s for Golfers of All Ages

Designed to be engaging for the whole family, at Geo’s Golf, kids aren’t just playing with props—they’re moving through the course, putting the ball and learning about STEM concepts. It’s an exhibit that parents and kids can do together, promoting active interaction.

It’s Full of Surprises

See how many subtle references you can spot, from iconic locations and sports trivia to Caddy Shack movie characters (hint: one is furry). There’s even a full-sized golf cart you can hop behind the wheel of. Don’t worry about running off course—it’s actually missing an engine!

Exhibit safety precautions: Advanced timed-entry ticketing is required to visit TCMU and Geo’s Golf. You can purchase tickets online at www.tcmupstate.org/visit. At this time, all adult visitors are required to wear an approved mask in museum spaces. Find The Children’s Museum on Facebook and Instagram: @tcmupstate.
