“I’ve been thinking a lot about art and style as ‘taste’—something that cannot be artificially replaced,” she says. “Your taste is unique because it’s influenced by your past experiences and the community that you share it with, and I admire anyone who is leaning into that unapologetically personal perspective right now.”

A favorite aspect of the assignment was “seeing how their personal style complemented or contrasted with the aesthetics of their homes or studios.”
