Four inducted into FAC Hall of Fame
The Fine Arts Center celebrated 50 years with an anniversary celebration at the Peace Center. Fine Arts Center students took the stage along with four alumni who were inducted into the inaugural Fine Arts Center Hall of Fame.
Inductees included Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Marcus King, violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins, dance educator Jan Woodward, and comedian, actor, and writer Rory Scovel.
With 200 performers, including students, alumni, and staff, and nearly 1,500 tickets sold, it was the largest performance ever hosted by the Fine Arts Center.
“We are so proud to celebrate 50 years of empowering young artists and preparing them for successful futures,” said Fine Arts Center Director Vee Popat. “This evening was not just about looking back—it was about launching forward with purpose and pride.”
The Fine Arts Center was founded in 1974 as South Carolina’s first public arts high school.
