Pilot Cove’s forest lodging offers comfort, luxury, and proximity to endless outdoor recreation

Tucked away in a secluded corner in Brevard, North Carolina, next to the Pisgah National Forest, there’s a place where outdoor enthusiasts can go for rest and recreation: Pilot Cove. With modern, luxurious furnishings and plentiful amenities both indoors and on the property, this is forest lodging at its finest.

The private cabins feature a stunning porch with a massive overhang, making you feel like you’re in a treehouse. Sliding doors leading to the porch have screens, so you can let the breeze in while cooking in the fully stocked kitchen or putting a load of laundry in the washer and dryer. And when it’s time to rest, the bedrooms are simply unbeatable. Yes, the bed and blankets are extremely comfortable, but the true star of the show is the gorgeous view out the huge bedroom windows. There’s nothing quite like waking up to the sight of trees as far as the eye can see. (Don’t worry, there are blackout blinds if you need to sleep.)

Adventure Ahead at Pilot Cove

Pilot Cove cabins are the perfect home base for the countless outdoor adventures you’re bound to have during your stay—there’s just so much to do in this neck of the woods!

Of course, hiking and biking are at the top of the list. Whether you’re a serious hiker or just in it for the waterfalls, you won’t have trouble finding a nearby trail to meet your needs. Pilot Cove’s 64-acre property shares a long border with the Pisgah National Forest, with about two miles of hiking trails and over four miles of flow track for biking available on-site. Don’t have a bike? Not to worry—Pilot Cove’s next-door neighbor, The Hub, offers bike rentals. Take in the fresh air and tall trees while going at the pace and difficulty level that suits you.

Beyond hiking and biking, there’s an abundance of outdoor activities in the area. Grab some fishing gear, cast your line, and see what you can catch in the flowing waters that meander through the forest. Find a stable and saddle up for a horseback ride. Slide into a canoe, kayak, tube, or raft and journey down the famous Green River. Pack a picnic, go for a drive, and stop at an outlook for breathtaking scenic views of rolling mountains.

After a long day of outdoor recreation, it’s nice to have a serene spot to return to. When adventure is calling, you don’t have to go far to find it—just follow the path to Pilot Cove.
