Part pink, part fun, and all fashion, Sparkling Sisters Champagne Bar & Boutique is the ultimate destination for ladies. The Prestifilippo sisters have created a haven for women to put their feet up and let their hair down, while embracing baubles and bubbly. “We wanted to open a place that was feminine and quirky, where women can come and shop, and chat with friends,” shares Danielle, the older of the two. “We also wanted it to be a cool place to hang out, so we included the Champagne bar. Champagne is timeless. It’s classy and it’s for celebrations. There’s always time in life to celebrate, sparkle, and shine.”

Perfect lighting bounces off blush-colored balloons, gold streamers, and glitter curtains that stand tall surrounding racks of high-end brands and flutes of fizz.  The duo is always adding new pop to the shop. “First, we built the Champagne wall,” explains Mary. “You don’t call us the sparkling sisters for nothing, and now we’re waiting on a custom-designed, life-size Barbie box to arrive any day. It’s going to be great for photos.” Both girls giggle in unison thinking about it.

The two grew up in Augusta, Georgia, seven years apart. Danielle was the first to move to the Upstate nine years ago, with Mary following later. As illogical as retail was after majoring in biology and anthropology, teaming together made perfect sense. “As cheesy as it sounds, I work with my best friend,” reveals Mary. “Growing up, I was the annoying little sister, but when she went off to college, we became really close. We even each other out. I trust her wholeheartedly with any decision she makes.”

The siblings had a huge decision to make during COVID: how to keep their first shop, Southern Sisters, in the black. Through Facebook Live videos, door deliveries, and premium service, they doubled sales. They were already sitting on a business-incubator-approved plan for the boutique/Champagne bar, so when the right space opened just two doors down on East Poinsett Street, they popped the cork in August of 2021.

“The two shops complement each other,” says Danielle. “They carry completely different brands and it’s a totally different atmosphere.” At Sparkling Sisters, shoppers may encounter a bridal shower, a braid bar, or a charcuterie class. Saturdays feature $5 mimosas. “This boutique is geared for women,” Mary shares in closing. “It’s not just a place to shop, but a place for women to come and feel comfortable. Oh, be sure to mention we do have emergency beer for men and boyfriends who might get pulled in.”

Good to know. Cheers!
