A passion for live music brought this couple together, as Christian, owner of Red Horse Inn in Landrum, had one of few venues offering COVID-conscious live music during the pandemic.
Fellow music lover Allison, a school counselor, found out about the shows and made the Red Horse Inn a regular stop, each time striking up great conversations with the friendly owner. After dating for nine months, Christian proposed at a wine tasting with a family engagement ring that dates back to 1912.
Nothing about Allison and Christian’s wedding was ordinary: during the ceremony, their friends tossed Polaroids of the couple into the audience as they walked down the aisle. Following were their nephews, throwing Cheerios from fanny packs while the couple’s pig, Phinney, waddled behind with the rings. All of their vendors were locally owned businesses, including Sassafras Flowers, All Good Things Bakery, llynn strong fine art jewelry, and The Poinsett Bride, as well as each band that played throughout their wedding day. Brooks Dixon Band, regularly featured at Red Horse Inn, performed during the reception.
The couple now lives in Landrum.
