There’s a reason the Greenville Symphony has remained a vibrant and thriving cultural institution for more than 77 years. What began as a small group of volunteer musicians in 1948 has since grown into a regional powerhouse, stewarding multiple generations of musicians and music lovers on journeys of growth and discovery.
With a history as rich as its soundscapes, the Greenville Symphony’s education and engagement programs have provided not only high-quality musical experiences for children of all ages and backgrounds but help to reinforce the skills and attributes students need to be productive members of our thriving community. From the pioneering work of longtime music director and conductor Edvard Tchivzhel to its new era under executive director Jessica Satava and music director Lee Mills, the Greenville Symphony continues to transport Greenville residents and visitors to entirely new musical realms
