For more than 40 years, Centre Stage has been a lightning rod for the Upstate, a singular point that has proven its ability to capture the brightest local talent in music, theater, and the arts. Currently led by Managing Artistic Director, Laura Nicholas, the year-round, 285-seat regional theater, located an easy walk from the flowing waters of Falls Park, brings the best of drama, comedy, and music to downtown Greenville.
With a particular emphasis on modern and new works, Centre Stage’s vibrant programming—including its nationally celebrated New Play Festival—serves as an incubator for the freshest voices of the American stage. Not only a showing ground for writers, musicians, and actors, Centre Stage is a place in which the atmosphere of the world’s greatest stages is captured, where entire worlds and dreams are created, and where the lights that fall on the stage also illuminate our entire region in all its diverse beauty.
