When Alan Harry went to an urgent care to be treated for COVID-19, the doctor discovered a swollen lymph node. Harry was later diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and prostate cancer.
Soon after, Dr. Daniel Fried, a radiation oncologist at Gibbs Cancer Center at Pelham, worked alongside a team of providers to develop a treatment plan using CyberKnife M6’s precise radiation therapy to target the tumors and minimize damage to surrounding tissue. “It wasn’t painful,” Harry said. “I didn’t get sick or lose my hair, but it did its job.”
Almost three years post-treatment, Harry remains cancer free. “Dr. Fried is one of the ‘A’ students,” Harry said. “Anybody living in this area and facing cancer, go see Dr. Fried.”
