Ashley attended a self-defense workshop at First Baptist Church Greenville, knowing she’d walk away with improved confidence and skills. What she didn’t know was that she would meet her future husband, who was leading the class. They later collaborated on several community initiatives focused on the empowerment of women and girls, and then on Ashley’s 50th birthday, Terence read from Proverbs before asking her to be his bride.
A small ceremony at Trinity Church of Greenville–just the couple, the pastor, and Ashley’s best friend—took place on her birthday, one year after their engagement. Ever the stylist, she wore a pink wedding dress by Sachin & Babi, the couple then retreated to the Grand Bohemian Lodge. Two weeks later, they held a brunch reception with friends and family at City Range, the site of their first date.
Ashley is the owner of Style Envy, which offers personal wardrobe styling and image consulting, and Terence is a city of Greenville police officer and owner of Unified Self-Defense. The couple lives in Greenville.
