After matching on Bumble, Brooke and Ted found time for breakfast dates despite opposing work shifts: Brooke, a neuro nurse, was working nights, while Ted, a project manager, was working days. Fly fishing was a hobby of Ted’s and one that Brooke was eager to learn, so in October of 2021, Ted took her to one of his favorite trout streams. There, he proposed with a ring he created with Ponthieux’s Jewelry Design Studio using the diamond his father had given his mother. Ted then took Brooke to his parents’ house for dinner, where a full-blown engagement party was waiting.
The wedding took place at South Wind Ranch in Travelers Rest. Brooke’s Lilian West dress and blusher veil were from The Poinsett Bride, and her bouquet was wrapped with lace from her mother’s bridal veil. Ted’s Clemson roommate, Brooks Dixon, played at the reception with the Brooks Dixon Band. The couple left amid fireworks lit by Ted’s brother and best man, USMC 1st Lieutenant Joe Angermeier, who made it to the wedding from Japan. Brooke and Ted now live in Greenville.
