It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Santa Claus is coming to town, and it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas—especially at Southernside Brewing Co., where the days (and nights) are merry and bright, and the holiday cheer is flowing. From the last week of November through the first week of January, Southernside Brewing is transformed into a Miracle Pop-Up. If you’ve never heard of it, the professional installation curates a nostalgic Christmas-themed experience that combines kitschy decor and specialty cocktails for a festive holiday setting like no other. Here’s what you can expect.

Have A Cup of Cheer

Creative Christmas cocktails are a core component of any Miracle Pop-Up, and this year’s menu features 11 different drinks, each served in unique glassware. Let’s just say the Christmas spirits are in high supply! But don’t worry, Southernside isn’t abandoning its beer-loving roots—it’s got something special in store for those who want a true brew Christmas.

“Our brewer has made specially themed Christmas beers, which we have on tap for the whole holiday season,” says General Manager Tim Campau. Daily food and drink specials are available throughout the six-week Miracle Pop-Up. (Pro tip: happy hour is every night from 10pm–12am.) Southernside will also be hosting some special events, including an ugly Christmas sweater party and a one-of-a-kind Christmas rave for ages 21 and up.

Bushels of Family Fun

Christmas at Southernside wouldn’t be complete without family-friendly attractions. Kids and parents alike will marvel at the winter wonderland decorations, with plenty of extravagant backdrops for taking pictures. The whole family won’t be able to resist rockin’ around the Christmas trees (all 40–50 of them) and admiring the more than 50,000 glowing Christmas lights.

“Every single square foot that we can cover with something Christmassy is covered,” says Executive Chef Christian Grohman. “We’ve made it so big that when you walk in, you can’t help but feel that Christmas spark.” In true Christmas spirit, Southernside is also tying in a charity component, helping to raise money for nonprofit Defenders for Children.

The Glass is Where It’s At

Miracle Pop-Ups are known for their unique glassware. Popular designs include the T-Rex, Koala, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus shot glasses. The best part? They’re available for purchase, if you want a fun Miracle Pop-Up souvenir.

Big City Origins

Miracle Pop-Up originated in 2014 at a small cocktail bar in NYC, and it has since expanded worldwide. Some die-hard fans make it a holiday tradition to tour as many Miracles as they can. A full list of 2022 locations can be found at miraclepopup.com/locations
