Foster well-being by scheduling some me-time at Spa H at Hotel Hartness.

Now that the holidays are over and the doldrums of deep winter have set in, isn’t it time to lift your spirits with some well-deserved pampering? That’s where the Hotel Hartness comes in: the boutique hotel and its Spa H have everything you need to revitalize yourself for the new year ahead.

Located on Greenville’s Eastside, the luxe Hotel Hartness comprises 69 rooms, The Captain bar, Patterson Kitchen + Bar, and Spa H; the latter two are set in separate buildings just across the manicured courtyard from the hotel. Here, you’ll find all the elements required for an indulgent getaway, which starts with reserving one of the four spa suites. Each boasts a small balcony overlooking a tranquil pond fringed by woods on the 467-acre Hartness family property. Weather permitting, the balcony is the first place you’ll want to unwind, perhaps with a glass of wine in hand.

Spacious spa suites come with all the creature comforts, including a comfy king bed furnished with lavender sachets and essential oil-infused sleep towelettes on the pillows. Wide-plank blond wood floors, calming earth tones, and a bathroom featuring a marble-lined shower and a deep soaking tub fashion an elegant retreat, complete with a mini-fridge and Illy coffeemaker.

Invite your sweetie to indulge with you, dining on seasonal fare in Patterson’s chic, contemporary space adjacent to the spa building. Then it’s back to the room to get a good night’s rest in your plush bed before a spa appointment in the morning. Feel free to don the cozy robe in your closet to walk down the short hall to the spa. Here, six different treatment rooms provide tranquil spots to satisfy your inner sybarite via the spa’s menu of body treatments, facials, and massages.  A Balancing Botanical Facial will hydrate your skin with soothing serums, while brown sugar and Kentucky whiskey pair up in a Bourbon Bubble Body Polish. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, consider treating yourself and your honey to a Hot Stone couple’s massage.

No matter which treatment you choose, linger afterward in the serene lounge, gazing out on the garden and pond. After all, why rush back to reality?

Eat + Drink

Once you’re ensconced in your spa suite at Hotel Hartness, you need not leave the property. The Captain, the moody barn wood-lined bar that fills the space once occupied by the Hartness family’s kitchen, offers a menu of light fare to pair with expertly crafted cocktails. For dinner, head across the courtyard to chic Patterson Kitchen + Bar to savor Chef Tanner Marino’s enticing dishes, which herald cold weather with plates such as a hearty bone-in Duroc pork chop complemented by Luxardo cherry gastrique, and pan-seared scallops atop butternut squash puree.
