The Metropolitan Arts Council hosted the reception and awards ceremony for its Flat Out Under Pressure artmaking event June 15. Eleven artists were selected as awards recipients for the 2024 event. The local visual artists submitted works created during a 24-hour period for an opportunity to have their submissions featured on one of eight recycling bins on Main Street in downtown Greenville, as well as a chance to win between $300 and $1,000 in cash prizes.
The first place winner, Meredith Skinner, will receive a one-week trip for two to stay in Villa Sant’ Andrea in Italy as part of the prize.
