Helen Smith and Luke Mann grew up doing summer swim team together at Greenville Country Club and became best friends in high school. They started dating their freshman year of college and were engaged exactly five years later at Litchfield Beach.
They were married on January 31 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Greenville. Five inches of snow fell on the couple’s wedding day, which initially caused some concern. In the end, the falling snow created a memorable backdrop as the couple said their vows flanked by the church’s large windows.
Helen wore a Watters gown from The White Magnolia, customized with a lace bolero by Cindy Ingram. Friends and family enjoyed taking illustrations home from fashion illustrator Brook Taylor, who created them live at the reception.
Helen is an apparel designer for North Carolina-based fashion brand Marie Oliver and Luke is in a master’s program for human resources at University of South Carolina.
