Christie and Duane met in downtown Greenville, but she was preparing to move, so they began their relationship dating long-distance.
Fortunately, she moved back to Greenville in August 2019. They were engaged in Cape Coral, Florida, on a morning boat ride with dolphins arriving to swim around the boat just after the proposal—a bonus to the celebration that Duane pretended he orchestrated.
They held their ceremony at Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa Resort in Cancun, Mexico, combining nuptials and honeymoon in one, since Duane’s job as a defensive coordinator for Furman’s football team creates scheduling conflicts much of the year. Christie, a global human resources business partner at Ansys, wore a dress from White Magnolia in Greenville, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
They have now settled into their new house in the Pebble Creek community.
