Discover the latest newcomers to the Upstate’s hamburger scene

Known for attracting top foodie talent, the Upstate has recently welcomed five new hamburger establishments to its culinary landscape. These hamburger-centric spots are perfect for foodies seeking unique flavor combinations, friendly service, and juicy patty perfection.

Upstate Burgers

Perfect Buns | Vegan options

Nestled in the heart of downtown at Camperdown Plaza, this trendy joint is serving up tasty smash burgers and other handhelds. Formerly Social Burger, the eatery closed for the winter in 2022 and reopened in 2023 with a new name and a revamped menu. (They even developed a new secret sauce!) Step right up to the ordering window and enjoy your meal at one of the many tables in the bustling plaza.

Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint

At Jack Brown’s, it’s all about the beef. With a focus on simplicity and quality, these burgers are prepared to make the premium 100% American Wagyu beef shine. Say goodbye to the usual lettuce and tomato as toppings, though, because you won’t find them on the menu. Instead, discover a selection of wacky, creative combos, like the famous Greg Brady burger (topped with mac and cheese) or the Fat Elvis burger (topped with peanut butter and bacon).

Chef 21 Sushi Burger | Keto + Gluten-free options

Prepare to be amazed by the fusion of two culinary worlds at Chef 21 Sushi Burger. This innovative restaurant brings together the best of sushi and burgers, with Japanese flavors and ingredients delivered hamburger style. Their signature sushi burger features spicy crab meat, avocado, fresh salmon sashimi, and seaweed salad served between two crispy rice patty “buns.” You’ll also find more unique flavor-packed creations on the menu, many of which are served on a traditional bread bun.

Windy City Burgers | Vegetarian + Gluten-free options

Windy City Burgers and their Chicago-inspired flavors have been welcomed with open arms by Greenville residents. Their huge, tender patties are made with freshly ground chuck and smoked pork belly and are served on daily house-baked brioche buns. And what’s a burger without fries? Windy City offers four signature craft fries: Garlic Parmesan, Sea Salt and Pepper, Garlic Chili Pork Belly, and Buffalo Bleu Cheese, all from hand-cut Idaho potatoes.

BlueFin Sushi Burger Bar | Vegan + Gluten-free options

For indecisive eaters or groups with multiple palates to please, it can be hard to find the perfect place to eat out. Enter BlueFin Sushi Burger, where American and Japanese fare make up the menu and offer plenty of options from two cuisines, ensuring options for everyone. Want the best of both worlds? Try the Bento Box, which includes a burger, fries, edamame, gyoza, ginger salad, and a sushi roll—all on one plate.
