From coworkers to husband and wife, Asheton and Joey have been through it all. They first met when Joey was a new hire at the sushi restaurant where Asheton worked in Anderson. They grew closer through work and as students at Clemson University, quickly realizing they had found their forever person. After graduation, they started a life together in Washington, DC.
The couple took the trip of a lifetime to Cape Town, South Africa, for their four-year anniversary. While on a diving board overhang at the end of a hike up Table Mountain, Joey said, “This is my attempt at giving you the world,” and got down on one knee.
The wedding took place at the South Carolina Botanical Garden in Clemson. They had an intimate ceremony, planning most of the wedding themselves along with friends at Claire and Jordan Events. Joey walked down the aisle to the Game of Thrones theme song, and the couple’s friend—also one of the groomsmen—officiated. Sushi was served during cocktail hour, and the couple handpicked every song on the playlist.
Asheton, a research and development scientist at Purilogics, and Joey, a wealth manager at Goldman Sachs, now live in Greenville.
