Ryne caught sight of a woman at work and hoped to meet her, but life took them in different directions. Months later, they were introduced at a meeting and he realized Jenny was “that girl.” Though he was based in the Washington, DC, area and she was in Greenville, they dated for four years long-distance.
Then, on a birthday visit to DC, Ryne picked out a spot in front of the Bartholdi Fountain next to the National Botanical Gardens and asked Jenny to marry him. They celebrated their engagement at The Bazaar, a restaurant led by José Andrés at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
The wedding took place at Avenue in Greenville, with parents and family members offering blessings as they united two families into one.
Jenny wore a dress from Katherine Marie Bridal, desgned by Barbie Ann Bridal. Ryne, a combat infantryman veteran, wore a navy-blue tuxedo with his Army medals. Wild Aisle Florals provided a floral arch. Ryne, a security specialist, and Jenny, an accountant, now live in the Washington, DC, area.
