The Cannoli Hole offers a twist on Italian tradition

It may come as a surprise that such delicious cannoli could appear from a literal hole in the wall, but that’s part of the fun at The Cannoli Hole in BridgeWay Station.

Chef Thomas Wirthlin, better known as Restaurant Rocco’s very own Chef Rocco, introduced The Cannoli Hole in August 2025 as a quicker and easier way for guests to enjoy the restaurant’s famous cannoli and other Italian treats. “We were pretty busy inside, so . . . we wanted people to experience them without having to come in and eat,” says Wirthlin. The combination of unique cannoli flavor options and engaging social media presence has helped lead to its success.

The mind behind the cannoli flavors is Chef Alexis Ellington. Regular offerings include vanilla bean with mini chocolate chips, Oreo, Biscoff, and crème brûlée. More recent inventions include cereal flavors such as Fruity Pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Guests can order and pick up their cannoli from the quaint trapdoor beneath the stairs. Chef Rocco’s daughter, Sidney Perkins, says the experience is similar to being served wine out of a hole in Italy. In addition to cannoli, guests can order a cool cup of gelato, an espresso martini, or a glass of wine.

The Cannoli Hole is notably “Instagrammable” thanks to its unique setup, and Chef Rocco has hundreds of thousands of views on Instagram and TikTok. The restaurant makes a point to be involved in the community, hosting events like 5Ks—with cannoli served afterward, of course.
