Amelia Madden and Jimmy Kourlas started dating after becoming friends at the University of South Carolina. Six years later, Jimmy popped the question by the Reedy River on Amelia’s favorite holiday, Christmas Eve.
On February 21, the couple had a traditional Greek ceremony at St. George Greek Orthodox Church and celebrated with a reception at Huguenot Loft, complete with traditional Greek dancing to the music of Greek DJ/band Nick Trivelas and the Aegeans. Amelia wore a Sassi Holford gown from Ladies of Lineage in Charlotte, NC, with a patch of lace from her mother’s wedding dress sewn in.
Amelia, a store manager at Monkee’s of the West End, and Jimmy, co-owner of Greektown Grille and Greektown Express, live in Greenville.
