Holiday Open House continues decades of great gifts and festive fun.
Grab your gift list and head to Augusta Road on Sunday, November 12, for the annual Holiday Open House, which kickstarts the season for many area residents. Participating businesses pull out all the stops to offer fun and festivity for shoppers, including door prizes, raffles, carriage rides, hot cocoa, and even several appearances and photo ops with Santa Claus himself. The excitement runs up and down Augusta Street from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Holiday Open House began in the 1980s, when the first Augusta Road Business Association members gathered to create a special event to ring in the Christmas season. It has continued to grow, with families across generations coming out to support the community and its small businesses.
While taking in the sights and sounds of the holiday–and, of course, shopping–visitors are invited to participate in the annual Instagram contest. Snap photos or selfies at the event and post on Instagram, tagging @onlyonaugusta and #onlyonaugusta, and you may win gift certificates for your favorite shops along Augusta Street.
