On an early spring evening, we headed to Camperdown Plaza and to Main Street Friday on NOMA Square to track down season-spanning styles ideal for outdoor music, a cozy dinner, or a family night out.
Spring Style

On Lizz: denim jumpsuit from Zara, T-shirt from H&M, bag from Louis Vuitton. On Rob: Orvis pullover (a gift from his mom), Orvis watch (a gift from Lizz), Quicksilver shoes. On the kids: mostly Old Navy.
Style note from Lizz: “This is my grandma’s scarf; it has a print of Italy on it. I have a smattering of scarves from my grandma and I feel like they are very cute, but I don’t know how to wear them, so I always put them on a bag.”

On Jenny: Chanel flats, Target T-shirt, Veronica Beard jacket, jeans from Harrington’s. On Zach: hat from Andy Davis Designs, jacket from Imperfects (both designed by San Diego artists, a nod to his hometown.) On Smith: shirt from Target and pants from a boutique in Atlanta.
Style note from Jenny: “One of my style tips is to invest in shoes. I also love to accessorize heavily. Almost every piece of jewelry I have was my grandmother’s, or my mom’s—I like jewelry that tells a story.”
Old Navy jeans, Southern Tide shirt, jacket from Lizard’s Thicket (borrowed from her daughter); charm necklace from her daughter; rings from Alaska, where she grew up.
Style note: “I’m typically a black-and-white person, but my husband loves color, so I’m trying to branch out a little with some color with the pink and green.”

On Jessica: Rhode two-piece set from Rent the Runway, topped with a jean jacket. On Carly: vintage suede jacket from Westside Market on Augusta Road; Zara over-the-knee boots, mom’s neck scarf.
Style note: Jessica says Rent the Runway allows her to wear clothes beyond her typical price range. Carly suggests mixing vintage items and adding accessories like scarves and bold scrunchies: “I like to mix and match.”
Sarah Day and Cooper Grimm
On Sarah: Empyre cords (find them at Zumiez skate shop), jean jacket, adidas bag, and Birkenstock clogs. On Cooper: Australia T-shirt from a thrift shop; Dickie’s checked shirt and pants, adidas shoes.
Style note from Sarah: “Add personality with thrifted items; mix in something sporty.”
On Martha: blue coat and top from Loft (she used to work there); Sorel shoes. On Kent: Orvis vest.
Style note: We asked about Martha’s great hair; she recommends L’Oréal EverPure purple brightening shampoo.
Shelly Malinowski, Jack Malinowski, Hallie Malinowski, Stephanie Blane
On Shelly: pink dress from Anthropologie; Sam Edelman shoes, Louis Vuitton bag. On Stephanie: Knockarounds sunglasses—“They are indestructible”—clothes from a shop in Chattanooga, where she lives; Nike shoes.
Style note from Shelly: “I like tennis shoes and a casual dress; Hallie’s pink sneakers are even cooler than mine.”
Madi Scott and Claire Hamilton
On Madi: fringe jacket, thrifted from a vintage market; Good American Jeans, cowboy boots. On Claire: a dress rented from Nuuly and a bag by a French brand that she picked up in Paris.
Style note: Madi and Claire say vintage shops and rental services can expand your wardrobe.
Chloe, owned by Gregory Kelley
On Chloe: a sweater from Amazon.
Style note: Chloe likes to wear bold sweaters with coordinating collars and leashes for a look that grabs attention at community events.

On Mary: trench from H&M, vintage ’90s Levi’s jeans, Nine West shoes. On Matthew: Valentino shoes, TJ Maxx pants, Alfani shirt, Ray-Ban sunglasses. On Emmett, Old Navy sweater.
Style note from Mary: “My jeans were too long, and I didn’t want to cut them, so I just rolled them up. I love to have a scarf tied onto my bag, and it usually matches my nails.”
