Market

One-Stop Shop

In the West End, Spinx Market & Eatery recently transformed the space once occupied by The Cook’s Station into a sparkling convenience store. Stop in at lunch to pick up a sandwich or some of Spinx’s famous fried chicken (there’s seating outside). You’ll find all that and much more at this market/eatery, the newest venture from local entrepreneur Stewart Spinks. From frozen take-and-bake meals and fresh meat and produce to local honey and bread from Project Host, you can design dinner in a snap on your way home. Complete the meal with a bottle of wine—curated by the sommelier at Table 301—and a cake or pastry for dessert—all available at the market.

659 S. Main St., Greenville. Open daily, 5am–2am, spinxmarket.com

Cookies of All Kinds

Molded, dropped, refrigerator, rolled, pressed, bar, and no-bake: what’s Christmas without cookies? You’ll discover the technique behind each of these types of cookies in this merry class at the Truist Culinary and Hospitality Innovation Center (CHI). Just in time for the holidays, impress your family and friends with dazzling plates of cookies (hint: they make delicious gifts). Elevate your holiday baking by mastering the art of royal icing and other decorating techniques with help from CHI’s skilled instructors. Your cookies won’t only taste good, but they’ll look the festive part, too. Best of all, you’ll take home recipes and tips so you can recreate these goodies to make your holidays bright year after year.

Truist Culinary and Hospitality Innovation Center, 556 Perry Ave., Greenville. Dec. 7, Sat., 9am–12:30pm. $99. chigreenville.com/recreational-classes.html
